Scanning & Monitoring Tools
Site-wide web evaluation tools are designed to scan and identify web accessibility issues on a large scale. Rather than evaluating a single page, a site-wide tool automates the process by spidering through the levels of a website and scanning for errors. While not all accessibility issues can be identified using an automated site-wide tool, they can be an effective starting point for identifying where there may be accessibility issues to address immediately.
California Community Colleges are eligible to access the Pope Tech website scanning application at no cost. Colleges are welcome to use these applications or to select other site-wide evaluation tools that best fits their web accessibility needs.
Pope Tech Website Scanning
The Pope Tech website scanning tool (formerly Dinolytics) is a site-wide accessibility scanning and evaluation tool designed to crawl an institution's public-facing website and identify potential accessibility errors. Based on the WAVE accessibility extension, Pope Tech website scanning introduces multi-page scanning to provide feedback on errors, alerts, color contrast, ARIA usage, and more. If you are familiar with the single-page evaluation capabilities of WAVE, then you will find the results in Pope Tech to be familiar.
